Pioneers Trip Marauders, 4-2

The Vancouver Pioneers picked up a win at Magnificent Marauders Mansion, topping the Maple Marauders, 4-2. On the mound for Vancouver was left-hander Mike Ortner. He played a principal role in the triumph. With the win over Maple, the Pioneers improved to 26-22.
Vancouver relied on the bat of Travis Stiff to get the win. The second baseman ripped a run-scoring triple in the top of the seventh inning to put the Pioneers ahead, 4-2. For the game, Stiff had 1 double and 1 triple in 4 at-bats.
Maple manager Aubert Licci said he was "mildly disappointed" with the loss. "We had our opportunities, but we didn't take advantage of them," he said.
