The Carmel Apples licked the Moose Jaw Warriors, 8-4. Katsuharu Fujii deserved a big chunk of the credit. The left fielder was 3 for 5 with a triple and 2 singles, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once for the Apples. Tom Corfield closed the door for Carmel, picking up his 1st save of the year. Carmel has a record of 3-0.

Carmel third baseman Dave Gibson contributed a timely at-bat in the bottom of the fifth. With two down, he hit a fastball to center field for a 2-run single. It was his 5th hit of the season and put the Apples ahead, 3-1.
