Ottawa Topples Kingwood, 3-2
|
In a low-scoring affair between the Ottawa Civics and the Kingwood Knights, pitcher Adam McMullin was the difference between victory and defeat. The Ottawa left-hander earned accolades for his stellar performance in the 3-2 Civics win. Ottawa reliever Victor Valdez picked up the win, upping his record to 1-0. Antonio Adame took the loss. Ottawa is now 3-4.
The Civics got a big at-bat from shortstop John Gendreau. For the game, Gendreau was 1 for 4 with a home run, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. In the bottom of the sixth, with runners on 1st and 2nd, he stroked a 3-run home run. His 1st home run of the season gave Ottawa a 3-1 lead.
"I had pretty good command out there," said McMullin.
