The Moonbeam Martians pinned a convincing loss on the Carmel Apples, 9-3, at Abbey Stadium. Kenny Forbush was a main factor in the win. He went 2-4 with 2 home runs and a walk, while scoring 3 times and driving in 6 for Moonbeam. Jesus Trevino snagged the win in relief. He goes to 2-0 on the season. Jesus Lopez suffered the loss. Moonbeam is off to a hot start at 10-1.

With Moonbeam leading 3-1 in the bottom of the fourth, Forbush hit a fastball from Jesus Lopez for a 3-run home run. It was his 6th home run of the season and put the Martians ahead, 6-1.

"I'm not out here to win a beauty contest," said Forbush. "Obviously."
