Kingwood got a big-time effort from pitcher Shuta Fukuda, but it wasn't enough to keep the Ocala Knights from winning the game, 6-5. Fukuda threw 7.1 innings of shutout ball for the losing team. John Cochrane was called on to finish, recording his 3rd save. The loss drops Kingwood to 1-8.

The game was at a stalemate until shortstop Chris Hankins came to bat in the top of the ninth. Facing Kingwood pitcher Allen Justice, he hit a 0-2 fastball for a run-scoring single. It was a game-changer, putting Ocala on top, 6-5.

"When their pitchers are leaving stuff over the heart of the plate, we're not missing it," said Ocala manager Alexis Coates.
