St. Paul Keeps Trending in Wrong Direction
|
The San Angelo Mustangs picked up a win at Heartland Kettlecorn Stadium, downing the St. Paul Saints, 5-4. On the mound for San Angelo was right-hander Andy Banuelos, who played a pivotal role in the win. Banuelos, now 1-1, was the winner. In 7.2 innings, he gave up 3 hits, while striking out 7, walking 2, and allowing 4 runs. Dustin Booth earned the save for San Angelo, his 4th.
The Mustangs got a big at-bat from designated hitter Brandon Walshe. For the game, Walshe was 1 for 3 with a home run. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. In the bottom of the sixth, with runners on 1st and 3rd, he stroked a 3-run home run. His 1st home run of the season gave San Angelo a 4-1 lead.
"I was a little disappointed," said St. Paul manager Les Silvas. "We could've and should've scored more runs."
After losing, St. Paul is 3-8.
