Fans witnessed a whale of a game between the Kingwood Knights and Chippewa River Chiefs.
The Kingwood Knights beat the Chippewa River Chiefs, 6-5. Kingwood pitcher and San Juan, Puerto Rico, native Ricky Morales led the way. Morales, now 1-1, was the winner. In 7 innings, he gave up 6 hits, while striking out 5, walking 4, and allowing 3 runs. Allen Justice picked up the save for Kingwood, his 3rd of the year.
Dan Wooten aided the Kingwood cause with a run-scoring walk in the bottom of the fourth. For the game, the designated hitter was 2-4 with 2 singles and a walk. He scored 2 times.
"If I go out there and help the team win, that's all you can do," said Morales.
Chippewa drops to 2-9.
