Princes Earn 6-0 Win Versus Hazleton
|
The Bel Air Princes stopped the Hazleton Birdwings, 6-0, at Philip Banks Field. The Princes got a big game from Danny Soto, who was 3-3 with 3 singles. He drove in 2 runs. Bel Air reliever Alfredo Valdez picked up the win, upping his record to 2-0. Kensaku Nakamura absorbed the loss. For the Birdwings, the loss makes their record 5-8.
Steve Miller had a big run-scoring triple for the Princes in the bottom of the first inning. With Bel Air leading 1-0 and a runner on 1st, he got a slider from 20-year old right-handed pitcher Kensaku Nakamura and swatted a triple to right-center. It was his 1st triple of the season, and more importantly, it put the Princes ahead, 2-0.
"We did a lot of things right," said Soto.
