The Moonbeam Martians defeated the Baltimore Magicians, 23-3, at Abbey Stadium. Moonbeam was led by 18-year old first baseman David Surrett, who went 4 for 5 with a home run, a triple, 2 singles, and a walk, while scoring 4 runs and driving in 6. Ken McCann, the winning pitcher, is now 1-0. He went 9 innings, allowing 3 runs on 6 hits, while fanning 8 and walking 3. The Martians, now 13-2, have had a terrific start to the season.

With Moonbeam leading 1-0 in the bottom of the second, Surrett hit a fastball from Xavier Chavez for a 2-run home run. It was his 3rd home run of the season and put the Martians ahead, 3-0.

"This is playing in sync. Everything kind of fell into place," said winning manager Daniel Wilson.
