Cabo San Lucas Defeated By Ridge Runners, 6-5
|
Cabo San Lucas first baseman Mark Carrozza had a good game, even if his team did not. The Toreros dropped a 6-5 decision to Eagle Rock at Ozark Mountain Stadium. Carrozza was 2 for 2 with 2 singles, a walk, and was hit by a pitch. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. Eagle Rock reliever Gordon Hayes picked up the win. Josh Williams took the loss for Cabo San Lucas. Brian Clendenny closed it out for his 12th save.
Had Carl Farley not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the seventh, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and runners on 2nd and 3rd, Farley hit a 2-run single. That made the score 5-4, in favor of the Ridge Runners.
Said Eagle Rock manager Paco Berroa: "At the end of the day, these guys have to perform between the lines, and I think they did."
The 6th-place Ridge Runners improved to 19-25.
