Montreal Mounties starter Greg Spivey was on his game, helping his team beat the El Paso Mavericks, 4-2. Bill Wolfe picked up his 11th save of the season. Montreal, at 27-25, occupies third place in the Roberto Clemente League International Division.

Had J.N. Martin not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the seventh, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and a runner on 3rd, Martin hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 3-2, in favor of the Mounties.

Martin told the media after that game that the mood in the clubhouse is "extremely positive" after a win like that.
