Vikings Take Tight Tilt
|
Oconomowoc got a decent performance from pitcher Matt Farnsworth, but it wasn't enough to beat the Victoria Vikings. Victoria won the Arnold Field contest, 3-2. Farnsworth threw 6.0 innings of 4-hit ball for the losing team. Jose Reyes snagged the win in relief. He goes to 1-0 on the season. Matt Farnsworth suffered the loss. Trevor Baker earned the save for Victoria, his 1st of the year.
Victoria used a clutch at-bat from Dylan Fleming to capture the win. The catcher hammered a 3-run home run in the top of the sixth inning to put the Vikings ahead, 3-2. It was his lone hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a humdinger.
"Winning makes the heart grow fonder -- for more winning," said Fleming, cracking a smile.
The win puts Victoria at 11-5.
