St. Petersburg first baseman Ismael Yepez was sensational. He went 2-3 with a home run, a double, and a walk. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. But it wasn't enough to rally his team to a win. Bel Air beat the Pelicans, 6-3. Josh Melton earned his 4th save, after closing out the game. The Pelicans, at 2-17, have stumbled out of the gate.
Steve Miller took St. Petersburg hurler Dan Baughman deep in the bottom of the seventh. His 3-run home run put the Princes on top, 5-3. In all, Miller had 1 single in addition to the home run, while going 2 for 4.
Miller said his team "played with focus and determination."
