Earthquakes Absorb 12-7 Loss at Arnold Field
Due in large part to left fielder Miguel Ruiz, the Jacksonville Pilots sunk the San Francisco Earthquakes, 12-7. Ruiz went 3 for 5 with a home run and 2 singles. He scored 2 times and drove in 3. Travis Carroll, now 4-0, picked up the win in relief. He allowed 1 run on 3 hits in 3.1 innings. Jacksonville is now 36-14. San Francisco is 21-30.

Pickerington, Ohio-born Josh Flamm came through in the clutch. In the bottom of the seventh, with runners on 2nd and 3rd and the Pilots trailing 6-5, he hit a 2-run single to right to put Jacksonville on top.

"We were the better team today. Maybe that won't be the case next game, but we'll enjoy it for now," Flamm told the Jacksonville Daily News.
