Getting a good performance from third baseman Dan Martin, the Moonbeam Martians defeated the Hazleton Birdwings, 6-3. Martin was 2-3 with a home run and a double, while adding 5 RBI and scoring once for the Martians. Justin Gillen, credited with the win in relief, is now 1-0. He allowed no runs on 3 hits in 2 innings. Moonbeam, now 22-1, is playing great baseball to start the year.

The game was still up for grabs in the bottom of the 11th. With two out, Martin hit a fastball from Ruben Perez for a 3-run home run. The Martians, in dramatic fashion, had a walk-off win.

"It was bedlam at the end," Martin said.
