River Bandits Beat West Virginia, 9-8
|
The San Antonio River Bandits spoiled a good performance by West Virginia right fielder Robby Stewart, bumping off West Virginia, 9-8, at Dr Pepper Stadium. Stewart went 2-3 with a home run and 2 walks, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once. The win belonged to Bobby Cintron in relief. His record improves to 1-1. Ryan Woller took the loss for West Virginia. San Antonio goes to 15-10.
Dan Carnes was the walk-off hero for San Antonio. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the River Bandits second baseman hit a dramatic run-scoring single to send the teams home.
"There's nothing like the buzz of a walk-off win," Carnes said.
