Kansas City wasted an exceptional performance by pitcher Monty Brewster, falling to the Eureka Hornets, 5-4. Brewster threw 7.0 innings of 5-hit ball for the losing team. The Tornadoes, now 24-29, have lost 4 in a row.

Eureka took a 5-4 lead on Josh Sweet's 5th home run of the season. The 2-run home run, which Sweet hit in the bottom of the eighth, left Kansas City pitcher J.P. Larson visibly frustrated.

"I was a little disappointed," said Kansas City manager Lewis Cannon. "We could've and should've scored more runs."
