|
The Moonbeam Martians downed the Brisbane Bush Wackers, 8-4, the largest share of the credit belonging to second baseman Matt Spikes. On the day, Spikes went 4-5 with a double, 3 singles, and a walk, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once for the Martians. The Martians, at 27-1, have a record worth flaunting.
With Moonbeam leading 2-1 in the top of the third, Spikes hit a run-scoring single off Brisbane hurler Shane Atmore. It was the 14th hit of the season for Spikes and put his team ahead, 3-1.
