The Memphis Blues racked up a win at The Pond, bumping off the Nichols Gnats, 5-2. Bill Larimore, who started for Memphis, pitched effectively for his team. The first-place Blues improved to 27-8.

It could have been a different outcome for Memphis, had it not been for Nick Schrock, the 21-year old designated hitter . Schrock contributed a run-scoring single in the top of the fifth inning to put Memphis up, 3-1.

"Even warm beer tastes good after a win," said Schrock.
