The Carmel Apples beat the Nichols Gnats, 7-3, at BLM Stadium. Ian Dalton starred for Carmel. He was 4 for 5 with a home run and 3 singles. He scored 2 runs and drove in 3. Harry Fox, now 2-0, picked up the win in relief. He allowed 1 run on 6 hits in 6.1 innings. Bobby Jones nailed down his 8th save.

Carmel grabbed the momentum in the bottom of the fifth, when Dalton hit a 2-run home run off Enrique Cuellar. His 1st home run of the season put the Apples out in front, 3-1.

"We've got guys willing to do what it takes to win," Dalton told the Carmel Citizen.

The Apples, now 21-8, have played inspired baseball.
