Spurr goes 3-for-5, Leads Civics to Win
Soggy conditions did not keep Ottawa and Kingwood from playing their scheduled game.

Getting offensive support from Sam Spurr, the Ottawa Civics topped the Kingwood Knights, 12-5. Spurr was 3-5 with a home run and 2 singles, while adding 7 RBI and scoring once for the Civics. The second-place Civics lifted their record to 22-13.

Ottawa used the timely hitting of Jason Sitterle to seize the win. The pinch hitter stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the eighth inning to put the Civics on top, 7-5. It was his only hit in 1 at-bat, but it was a game-changer.

"Enjoyed this one," Sitterle told the Ottawa Daily News. "But it's back to work tomorrow."
