The Nichols Gnats defeated the Eugene Emeralds, 7-2, at The Pond. Nichols was led by 23-year old second baseman Paul Buehler, who was 1 for 4 with a home run and was hit by a pitch, while scoring 2 and driving in 3. Travis Noecker was called on to finish, recording his 1st save. The defeat makes Eugene 11-21.

Buehler contributed a big hit, a 3-run home run, for Nichols in the bottom of the fifth. With his team trailing 2-0, Buehler took a fastball from Luis Ramirez and stroked the home run to right. His 7th home run of the season allowed the Gnats to leap in front, 3-2.

"You can't get too high when things go well, or too low when things go bad. Right now, I'm just happy we got the win," Buehler told the Nichols Bulletin.
