Hendricks Swings Apples to 13-11 Win
The Carmel Apples beat the Brownsville Bandits in a game featuring much hitting but not much pitching. The final score was 13-11, Apples. One of the hitting stars was right fielder Chris Hendricks. Hendricks belted 2 home runs, while scoring 3 and driving in 3. Bobby Jones closed out the game, earning his 9th save. Carmel, now 24-8, is setting the league on fire so far.

The Apples got a big hit from designated hitter Ian Dalton. In the bottom of the sixth, Dalton smacked a bases-clearing triple off Brownsville pitcher Alfonso Sorto. It was his 2nd triple of the season. Suddenly, the Apples were ahead, 12-10.

"Guys seem to be putting together some really nice at-bats right now," said Apples manager Hi-yuan Pan.
