Riding the 3-hit performance of the 19-year old third baseman Jesus Torres, the Moonbeam Martians defeated the Bel Air Princes, 12-2. The Martians, at 37-5, have a comfortable 14-game lead in their division.

Mike Clark had a big bases-clearing double for the Martians in the bottom of the second inning. With Moonbeam leading 1-0 and the bases loaded, he got a fastball from Earl Minnick, who is tied for 8th in the RHA in innings pitched with 55.1, and swatted a double to right. It was his 16th double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Martians ahead, 4-0.

Said losing manager Greg England: "The at-bats, obviously, needed to be better."
