Willie Roybal knocked in 3 runs to help Okanagan beat Charleston, 8-4. The Camagüey, Cuba native tallied 2 singles and 1 home run. The winner was Frank Clemente in relief. His record improves to 3-0. Ricardo Gomez took the loss. Getting the save was Rick Ezell, his 11th.
Who knows how it might've ended, had it not been for Wilbert Howse? The Okanagan second baseman had a run-scoring double in the top of the seventh inning to put the Lake Monsters on top, 6-4. For the game, Howse had 1 double and 1 single in 4 at-bats.
"I was just going up there trying to see good pitches, that was about it," said Roybal.
The win puts the Lake Monsters at 22-14, while the Panthers drop to 15-22.
