The Houston Sting beat the Brisbane Bush Wackers, 6-5. Houston pitcher and West Branch, Iowa, native Chris Piotrowski led the way. Carey Leblanc, summoned from the bullpen, notched his 9th save. The 5th-place Sting lifted their record to 20-23.

Houston used the hitting of Jorge Lozada to pick up the win. The catcher clubbed a 3-run home run in the top of the fifth inning to put the Sting on top, 6-5. For the game, Lozada had 1 home run and 1 single in 4 at-bats.

"Chris is pitching with a lot of determination and a lot of fire," said Houston manager Barnabé Bacm.
