Nichols Gnats starter Patrick McGeough pitched effectively against the San Angelo Mustangs at Heartland Kettlecorn Stadium. The left-hander spearheaded his team's 7-3 win. The Gnats benefited from an error in the top of the sixth inning. Nichols was leading 4-3 when Antonio Fonseca hit a 2-run single that was misplayed. It put Nichols in front, 6-3.

"Patrick went out and did what we needed," said Nichols manager Mike Nevil.

By defeating San Angelo, the 5th-place Gnats improved to 14-31.
