Vikings Come Back Late to Clip River Bandits
|
The Victoria Vikings beat the San Antonio River Bandits, 6-5, at The drakkar. Danny Amerson, in particular, was impressive. He was 2 for 4 with a home run and a walk, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 2. Rod Vasquez picked up the win in relief for Victoria, while Angel Bonilla took the loss. Victoria is now 19-19, while San Antonio is 25-15.
The game was still up for grabs in the bottom of the ninth. With one out, Amerson hit a fastball from Angel Bonilla for a solo home run. The Vikings, in dramatic fashion, had a walk-off win.
Amerson told the Victoria Daily News: "Win or lose, I don't want to see our team outhustled."
