Hazleton Birdwings starter Matt Matsch was locked-in. He led his team to a win over the Baltimore Magicians, 5-3. Hazleton currently is in last place in the RCL HA Tommy Lasorda Division at 19-29.

Hazleton third baseman Fernando Pina contributed a timely at-bat in the bottom of the third. With two down, he hit a curveball to center field for a 2-run single. It was his 31st hit of the season and put the Birdwings ahead, 5-2.

"Everything felt in sync," said Matsch.
