Big Day for Castellanos in 10-1 Birdwings Win
A good performance from center fielder Jorge Castellanos helped the Hazleton Birdwings defeat the San Antonio River Bandits, 10-1. Castellanos was 2-4 with 2 home runs and a walk. He scored 3 times and drove in 4 for the Birdwings. Steve Matkin, the winner, is now 1-0. He struck out 6 and walked 3 over 8.2 innings, while allowing 1 run on 10 hits. The setback makes San Antonio 26-16.

In the bottom of the third inning, the Birdwings grabbed the lead when Steve Miller rapped a two-out single. Hazleton was trailing 1-0, when Miller hit a 2-run single off Francisco Pereda to put his team in front, 2-1.
