Drooping Knights Lose 6th Straight
The Chippewa River Chiefs defeated the Ocala Knights, 10-5, at The Reservation. Chippewa was led by 24-year old left fielder Elias Spaans, who went 1-1 with a home run, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once. Chippewa reliever Juan Sanchez snagged the win, upping his record to 2-1. Willie Oropeza shouldered the loss. The River Chiefs saw their win-loss record go to 30-19. At the same time, the Knights fell to 27-22.

In the bottom of the eighth, the River Chiefs grabbed the lead when Spaans hit his 3rd home run of the season. The grand slam home run off Willie Oropeza made it 9-5, Chippewa.

"I warned the team before the game," losing manager Alexis Coates told reporters, "that I'm wearing the same pair of undies until we win."
