Oconomowoc third baseman Bill Lord was sensational. He was 2-3 with a home run, a double, and 2 walks, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. But it wasn't enough to rally his team to a win. Chippewa beat the Five O's, 6-5. The winner was Juan Sanchez in relief. His record improves to 3-1. John Plouffe took the loss. The River Chiefs upped their record to 31-21.

The game was at a stalemate until third baseman Aaron Thomas came to bat in the top of the ninth. Facing Oconomowoc pitcher John Plouffe, he hit a 1-0 fastball for a run-scoring single. It was a game-changer, putting Chippewa on top, 6-5.

"We didn't play well enough to win," Oconomowoc skipper Jorge Murillo said.
