Gnats Beat Visiting Princes, 8-5
|
The 8-5 Nichols win over Bel Air was due largely to Kyle Schultz. The Gnats pinch hitter went 1-1 with a home run, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once. Nichols starter Enrique Cuellar was credited with the win after throwing 105 pitches over 7.1 innings. His record now stands at 3-3. The win makes Nichols 27-19.
In the bottom of the seventh, Schultz put his team in front with his 2nd home run of the season. The grand slam home run, which came against Diego Martinez, made it 8-4, Nichols.
"It's always great to put the barrel on the ball and contribute," said Schultz.
