Milwaukee got a big-time effort from pitcher Tim Northup, but it wasn't enough to keep the Dallas Texans from winning the game, 5-3. Northup threw 7.0 innings of 6-hit ball for the losing team. The winning pitcher was 25-year old left-handed pitcher Jim Miller. He tossed 112 pitches over 9 innings, allowing 3 runs on 9 hits. The Texans now own a record of 23-32.

The decisive blow was delivered by Jimmy Eastes in the bottom of the ninth when he hit a grand slam home run off fireballing right-hander Doug Decker to win the game for Dallas. The home crowd went nuts.
