Depew Excels in 5-3 Eureka Win
|
The Eureka Hornets polished off the Maple Marauders by the score of 5-3. The largest share of the credit belonged to designated hitter Paul Depew. Depew went 3 for 3 with a home run, 2 singles, and a walk. He scored 2 runs and drove in 2 for the Hornets. Bobby Loscalzo was the winner. He's now 8-2. The loser was 32-year old left-handed pitcher Kyle Thomas. Eureka is now 35-20.
Marshall Knapp had a big 2-run double for the Hornets in the bottom of the fourth inning. With Eureka leading 2-0 and runners on 1st and 2nd, he got a fastball from 32-year old left-handed pitcher Kyle Thomas and swatted a double to left-center. It was his 1st double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Hornets ahead, 4-0.
"I just try to bring what I bring to this team," said Depew.
