Desjardins Powers Apples Offense
A 4-RBI performance from second baseman Cliff Desjardins led the Carmel Apples to a win over the Kingwood Knights, 11-6. Ruben Rivas came out of the bullpen to earn the win. The left-hander allowed no runs on 3 hits in 2.2 innings. His record now stands at 2-1. The Apples saw their record improve to 34-20.

With the game tied, 6-6, in the top of the sixth, Desjardins had a key at-bat for Carmel. With the bases loaded, Desjardins hit a 2-run single off Eddie Albares, making the score 8-6, Apples.

"We've got a great group of guys," Desjardins said, "and we're having fun right now."
