Lake Monsters Win, 6-5, Versus Lawmen
|
The Okanagan Lake Monsters turned back the Marshall Lawmen, 6-5, at Elks Stadium. Mario Figueroa, in particular, had a fine performance. He went 2-3 with a double and was hit by a pitch, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. Okanagan pitcher German Pineda got the win, upping his record to 6-2. Antonio Vazquez got the loss. Picking up the save was 24-year old right-handed pitcher Rick Ezell.
Kevin Singel had a big 2-run double for the Lake Monsters in the bottom of the third inning. With Okanagan leading 2-1 and the bases loaded, he got a knuckle curve from Antonio Vazquez, who is tied for 3rd in the RA in quality starts with 6, and swatted a double to right. It was his 16th double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Lake Monsters ahead, 4-1.
"I like how we're playing right now," said Singel.
The Lake Monsters have a winning streak of 5 games.
