Left-hander Jesus Angel mesmerized the Nichols Gnats while leading the Houston Sting to a 7-0 victory. Angel, now 1-0, was the winner. In 7.1 innings, he gave up 5 hits, while striking out 10, walking 4, and allowing no runs. The Sting now own a record of 41-25.

The Sting got a big hit from third baseman Marco Castillo. Facing Nichols pitcher Tzu-jao Kum in the bottom of the eighth, Castillo pounded a bases-clearing double to right. His 2nd double of the season put the Sting ahead, 7-0.
