|
The Kingwood Knights defeated the St. Paul Saints, 10-4, at Saints Ballpark. Kingwood second baseman Steve Corya had a superb performance. He was 3-4 with 3 singles and a walk. Shuta Fukuda, the winner, goes to 1-1. He allowed 4 runs on 4 hits, with 1 walk and 5 strikeouts over 6 innings. Raul Abalos locked down his 1st save.
Kingwood used a well-timed hit by Chris Woodring to capture the win. The right fielder socked a 2-run double in the top of the sixth inning to put the Knights ahead, 7-4. Though it was his only hit in 4 at-bats, it was important.
"I'm just looking to see the ball, hit the ball," said Woodring.
The Knights raised their record to 22-37.
