Thanks in large part to center fielder Juan Martinez, the Okanagan Lake Monsters beat the Baltimore Magicians, 6-5. Martinez went 3-4 with a triple and a double, while scoring 2 and driving in 3. Okanagan pitcher Jose Cruz earned the win, hiking his record to 2-0. Nick Macauley suffered the loss. Jorge Ramirez was called on to finish, recording his 14th save.

Okanagan left fielder Alex Flores contributed a timely at-bat in the bottom of the seventh. With two down, he hit a changeup to right field for a 2-run single. It was his 75th hit of the season and put the Lake Monsters ahead, 6-3.

"It wasn't our best performance," said Martinez, "but a win in this league is nothing to sniff at."

After today's action, Okanagan sits at 37-35; Baltimore slips to 44-28.
