The Cabo San Lucas Toreros picked up a win at Field de Los Layendas, dropping the Kansas City Tornadoes, 4-3. Alejandro Castro, who finished 3rd in the TML in strikeouts with 303 in 2055, was the difference-maker. Castro picked up the win for Cabo San Lucas, going 6.2 innings. He gave up 2 runs on 6 hits. He now sports a record of 1-0. Jimmy Sherry earned his 4th save, after closing out the game.
Dennis Allen dealt the Tornadoes a blow in the bottom of the fourth. Batting with a runner on 2nd and Cabo San Lucas leading 3-2, Allen, who finished 3rd in the TML in triples with 7 last year, hit a 0-2 slider for a run-scoring single.
"Throwing strikes was the main thing," Castro said.
After losing, Kansas City is 0-5.
