Valentin Pops Two Homers in 6-4 Win for St. Petersburg
The St. Petersburg Pelicans handed the Campo NoBos a 6-4 defeat at Valhalla Summit. Catcher Jose Valentin starred for St. Petersburg. He hit 2 home runs. He drove in 5 runs and scored twice. Tony Nunes closed it out for St. Petersburg, earning his 8th save. At 14-50, the Pelicans find themselves in last place in the RCL A Dusty Baker Division.

Valentin had a game-changing home run in the top of the ninth. On a 0-2 cutter from Felix Hernandez, he banged a 2-run home run to right, giving the Pelicans a 6-4 lead. It was the 5th home run of the year for Valentin.

St. Petersburg manager Gilbert Drader praised his team's "energy."
