Martians Rebuff Vikings, 8-6
The Moonbeam Martians trumped the Victoria Vikings, 8-6, at Abbey Stadium. Moonbeam center fielder Joe Pinkham was terrific. He went 2-3 with a home run, a double, and a walk. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. Antonio Enriquez earned the win to go to 2-0. He allowed 4 runs on 7 hits, with 4 walks and 9 strikeouts in 7 innings of work. Earning the save was Josh Mullins. He's now cashed in 15 of 19 save opportunities.

Had Bryan Sartor not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the seventh, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and runners on 2nd and 3rd, Sartor hit a 2-run single. That made the score 5-4, in favor of the Martians.

"I had some good swings out there," said Pinkham.

Moonbeam is looking good at 60-16.
