Toscano Goes Wild, But Five O's Win
|
The Oconomowoc Five O's besoiled an otherwise fine performance by Charleston second baseman Francisco Toscano by beating the Panthers, 9-4, at Arnold Field. Toscano was 3 for 4 with 2 home runs. He scored 3 runs and drove in 3. The win was credited to Nate Miller in relief. His record improves to 3-1. Kevin Tighe took the loss. Oconomowoc now has a record of 52-16 with the win.
Oconomowoc went up, 5-2, on Ed Cavanaugh's 13th double of the season. The bases-clearing double, which Cavanaugh hit in the bottom of the seventh, left Charleston pitcher Tony Gutierrez muttering to himself.
"It's still just a game," said Cavanaugh, "whether you win or lose."
