Diego Pais never let Moose Jaw get something going. The Chippewa left-hander commanded his fastball in pitching the River Chiefs to a 3-1 win. Pais, now 7-3, was the winner. In 8 innings, he gave up 5 hits, while striking out 5, walking 3, and allowing 1 run. Brad Dillinger, credited with the save, is now 15 for 18 in save opportunities.
With one out in the top of the fourth, Bill Culver put Chippewa in front, 1-0, with a run-scoring single. The River Chiefs went on to win the ballgame.
"The effort we put into this one paid off," Culver said.
