Texans Suffer 5-3 Road Loss
|
Brad Helmick, who is tied for 9th in the TML in wins with 5, propelled his team to victory over the Dallas Texans. The final score was 5-3, Buffalo. The winning pitcher was Helmick, now 5-4. He tossed 7.1 innings of 3-hit ball, while walking 3 and fanning 7. By defeating Dallas, the third-place Bison improved to 29-28.
Devin Staples drove in one run for Buffalo. The former first round draft pick had a key at-bat in the bottom of the sixth. With one out and the bases loaded, he broke a 3-3 tie with a run-scoring sacrifice fly off Cameron Mutton. It was his 40th RBI of the season.
"You come to the ballpark to do your job and that's what I did today," Staples told the Buffalo Times.
