The Eugene Emeralds beat the Memphis Blues, 9-8, in part because of catcher Jerry Baugh. He was 2 for 3 with a home run, a walk, and was hit by a pitch. He scored 3 runs and drove in 3. Eugene is 31-43 and Memphis, with the loss, 45-29.

Had Jamie Salerno not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the eighth, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and runners on 1st and 3rd, Salerno hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 9-8, in favor of the Emeralds.
