The Niagara Falls Barrels outscored the St. Petersburg Pelicans, 12-10. Edgar Carlos led the way, going 2-for-4 for Niagara Falls. Tony Vertiz snagged the win in relief. The right-hander allowed 4 runs on 6 hits over 7.1 innings. He's now 2-0 on the season. The Barrels saw their win-loss record go to 50-31. At the same time, the Pelicans fell to 14-66.

Niagara Falls got a big at-bat from Cincinnati, Ohio native Bobby Houp, who in the bottom of the second hit a 2-run double. It was his 3rd double of the season and put the Barrels ahead, 8-1.

St. Petersburg manager Gilbert Drader said he was disappointed with the loss. "Whenever you score that many runs, you expect to win the game."
