The inspired effort of Victoria first baseman Kevin Parker was not enough to prevent a loss, 9-7, to the St. Paul Saints. Parker was 2 for 3 with a home run, a double, and 2 walks, while scoring 2 times and driving in 2. Ed Cruz locked down his 17th save. At 36-58, St. Paul is in 5th place in the TML HA Dick Williams Division.

The Vikings had been locked in a 5-5 tie with the Saints going into the bottom of the fifth inning. That changed quickly when the 19-year old third baseman Jason Chard came to the plate. Chard hit a 2-run home run on a first pitch fastball from Victoria hurler Rico Rios. It was Chard's 24th home run of the year.

"We came out aggressive," said Saints manager Les Silvas. "We came out swinging the bats."
