|
Starting pitcher Diego Pais did his part in helping the Chippewa River Chiefs thwart the Charleston Panthers, 4-1. Dan Schmus, credited with the win in relief, is now 4-1. He allowed no runs on 1 hit in 1.2 innings. Brad Dillinger was credited with the save. He has now successfully converted 22 of 25 save opportunities.
Had Elijah Edwards not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the eighth, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and a runner on 2nd, Edwards hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 2-1, in favor of the River Chiefs.
"The guys are feeling pretty good about where they're at right now," said River Chiefs manager Pang Yip. "We have a lot of guys playing with confidence."
