Opening day festivities have begun throughout the league. Fans of the Montreal Mounties were eager to watch Greg Spivey square off against Justin Jenks of the visiting Quebec Armada. In the end, the Mounties won the game, 5-2, with Greg Spivey leading the way.

Jesus Jasso had a big run-scoring double for the Mounties in the bottom of the second inning. With Montreal leading 1-0 and a runner on 1st, he got a splitter from 25-year old right-handed pitcher Justin Jenks and swatted a double to center. It was his 1st double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Mounties ahead, 2-0.

"We did the things it takes to win a ballgame," said Montreal manager Julián Martínez.
